Another great stencil idea is for a child's room. I would love to do this in either of my kids rooms. Paint the ceiling a deep blue color and then stencil a bunch of stars all over it! It might sound weird or hard, but it isn't! Any kid would love to lie in their bed and look up and see a sky full of stars...right in their bedroom!! I found the perfect size stencil at http://www.stencilease.com/.

Here is a picture of the pattern, just to give you an idea. If anyone dares to try...please send pics for me to post!

Fall Leaves

With Fall upon us I am looking at ways to decorate the house with autumn decor. I found these falling leaves stencils from http://www.stencilease.com/ and just love them. I may stencil them on a floor mat for the mud room or on the walls of the playroom. I know the kids will love them either way.

Hopscotch

Another fun playground stencil is hopscotch! This timeless favorite should be found on every playground at home and at school. This one from http://www.stencilease.com/ is the perfect size for little feet to jump around! Here is a pic I took after we stencilled it.

Stencil Ease US map stencil

I love helping out the PTO. Being a stay at home mom, I am always trying to come up with ideas that not only keep me busy, but also can help out my children's schools. Last year my son's school PTO wanted to spruce up the playground area, specifically the large blacktop area. I had the idea to add a huge United States stencil. I found the perfect one online at http://www.stencilease.com/. They also have separate stencils for each state that the teachers could use for studying different states. So, lots of parents volunteered to help paint the large scale US stencil map. it was a huge success! The principal was thrilled, as was the PE teacher. I guess the PE teacher takes the kids onto the map stencil and helps them learn their states while running around. Sounds like a great way to make learning fun for the kids! Don't you think??
